Since my last journal entry was in Feb '13, I thought maybe I could update it a little..

First with some news about me:
I've finally graduated uni, and am now on the hunt for a job. Trying to fill my free time with drawing and drawing practice, now that I don't have the stress of uni and no more sword of Damocles over my head (aka no essays or exams to worry about!). 
I'm really motivated to produce more art. What I really want to work on is finishing more pieces (the bad habit of starting things and never finishing them has plagued me all my life), improving my drawing speed, and general improvement in skills (anatomy, colours, values, etc).

Welp I've been quite inactive on dA, coming in only to check my watchlist.. I'll make an effort to put up my stuff more often ^_^

I am more active on Tumblr and Facebook, feel free to follow me there! I put more things up there, like work-in-progress, sketches, photos, et cetera. It feels easier to update.

Hi peeps!

With my last assignment to do today, I only have exam revisions left for this semester. I am looking forward to some free time! (at least time where I can draw/read a book without feeling guilty because I have something to do for uni... hehe )

I was really surprised at the attention my mermaid drawing got, it certainly helped boost my motivation! (and ego hehe)

However, looking into my "To Finish" folder, apart from my dragon-fly, I really don't feel like finishing most of what I have in there. The reason for it is that with my mermaid drawing I started going in a direction (stylistic-wise) that I felt comfortable and happy with, and most of my to-do art does not match it.

It also has to do with the subject of these drawings. I've decided to not draw random drawings anymore. I want to give meaning, feelings, to my art. Like my Together drawing. It means a lot to me. No more random-girl-posing!


So now I'm a bit stuck in the sense that I'm not too sure what to draw.. DERP. For now I will finish the birds I've been commissioned to do, then finish my dragon-fly painting. Then, I suppose we'll see! (I hope that by the time I'm done with both I'll have some ideas! )



One more things to say: you HAVE to read Robin Hobb's books!! They're amazing. I believe they've made to my all-time favourites, along with Harry Potter I really want to make some art for it, but it's going to take me a while to think about what to portray and how.

Sorry for the lack of updates, I became sort of lax towards internet things after my 3-weeks trip in Greece, and when uni started I wanted to concentrate a lot more on getting good grades

I made myself a photo account (I take photos too!). It's Hanyes-photo (how original! I just wanted to link the two)
I find it better to separate my drawings and photos I uploaded my better photos for now, a few at a time, and then I'll upload my photos from Greece.

I was also wondering if you reckon that I should upload my older drawings to this account? The ones that I still like but have been drawn before I started this accound.

Anyhoo, got some Latin homework to do!! *puts sunglasses on*
